LIAD Weighing and Control Systems Ltd.
LIAD has been a pioneer in plastic manufacturing technologies for over 40 years and is today the leading developer of innovative feeders, blenders and quality control equipment.
First Gravimetric Feeder for Micro Molding and Extrusion Applications
The patented ColorSave-Micro uses a single vibrational, protected inner channel to eliminate exterior vibration and consistently deliver an accurate dose. Whether it’s for more efficient production of small parts or to reduce material costs for extruded parts, ColorSave-Micro can accurately dispense materials with LDRs as low as 0.1% to 0.3%. Gravimetric weighing ensures consistent accuracy when compared to today’s volumetric micro feeders. ColorSave-Micro comes standard with an air ionizer to neutralize static electricity in the plastic resin additive or color masterbatch to ensure a more accurate and consistent feed.
Now that’s smart. LIAD Smart.
ColorSave 1000 takes dosing precision to the next level
ColorSave 1000 is the only gravimetric feeder that features an Outer Protective Shell with an inner floating weigh hopper and single point load cell to ensure the highest accuracy in the industry. Perfect for industrial settings where vibration and other outside influences can affect the accuracy of weighing. ColorSave 1000 also uses advanced algorithms to deliver unmatched dosing precision regardless of material density changes or other dynamic parameters. You can confidently feed expensive colors and additives at the lowest possible LDR, running at the low end of the tolerance specification to save on masterbatch cost. Another smart feature--patented automatic quick purging between runs that saves operator time and streamlines production.
Now that’s smart. LIAD Smart.
BlendSave Workflow
BlendSave is a centralized blender with up to fourteen individual weighing chambers and can serve up to 50 processing machines with a potential throughput of up to 6 tons per hour. These chambers are fed directly from silos, simultaneously and accurately weighing raw materials and combining them as a batch according to a predetermined recipe destined for pre-determined processing machines. A rotating arm then distributes each batch in the dispensing manifold to its buffer deriving from up to fifty buffer bins, with each buffer linked to one processing machine. Once receiving a signal from a mixer at the inlet of the processing machine, content of the linked buffer is transferred via a delivery pipe to the mixer. The volume within a buffer bin and that of the linked mixer is adjusted so that the second can accommodate the first. Thus, an exceptional batch uniformity is achieved.
